Regional enteritis is a chronic, granulomatous inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract from mouth to anus, especially terminal ileum, of unknown cause.
The eponym "Crohn´s disease is commonly employed also.
In Korea, regional enteritis is quite rare in comparison with western countries and differential diagnosis between regional enteritis, and tuberculous enteritis is difficult because of many overlaping pathological findings.
Clinical manifestation, operative findings, gross and microscopic pictures of the resected, specimen of our four cases were consistent with regional enteritis.
This article is to report for patients of regional enteritis during last one year at department of surgery, Fatima Hospital, Taegu, Korea.
